3 Things To Do To Get Ready For Your Pool

Posted on: 26 July 2022

Having an in-ground pool can be a lot of fun because it gives you and your family someplace where you can play together. It also lets you get more exercise at home and is a great way to cool down when the weather is scorching. If you want to get an in-ground pool, you need to talk to a pool installation contractor to see what the process is to get a pool. Then you need to start prepping your yard for your pool.

Talk to Your Insurance Company

Before you do anything, make sure that you talk to your homeowner's insurance company about what kind of insurance you need to have when you have a pool. The insurance company may also require you to have certain features to meet their particular rules around pools or to lower the premium you have to pay for insuring the pool. You may need to arrange a locking fence around your pool to keep out any uninvited people.

Clear the Ground

You need to make sure that there is space for the pool to go. The pool contractor may clear some of the ground, but if you have things in that area that you want to keep, like flowers or shrubbery, you should move them yourself. You also need to ensure that there will be space for any heavy equipment that the pool contractor may need to bring in. The contractor may need to get in something like a skid steer with an excavator attachment so that they can dig the pool's footprint. A skid steer isn't very big, but it will still need space to do its work.

Soil Test

Part of what the contractor will do when you are prepping for the pool to be installed is to test the soil. The testing will show how well the soil compacts. Your pool and all the water will be heavy, and the ground under the pool needs to be able to support it. To support the weight of your pool, the soil needs to compact, and if it doesn't, then the contractor will have to amend the soil so it will be able to provide the necessary support for the pool. Without that support, the pool can start to crack and get damaged.

Having a pool can be a lot of fun. You want to ensure that you are doing everything correctly so you can enjoy your pool for years to come.

Exploring Information About Pool Contractors

Hello everyone, my name is Wesley Franks. I would like to use my website to share information about pool maintenance and repair services. When I moved to the big city, I selected a home with a functioning pool in the backyard. Unfortunately, I had no idea how to keep the pool maintained on a yearly basis. The pool ended up looking sick and green in very little time. Soon after, the pump failed due to the excess debris circulating through the water. I sought help from a skilled pool contractor to reverse the damage and restore the function of my pool. I will use this site to help others avoid my pool maintenance mistakes.
